Buyer Protection

Last updated: June 2026 | Safety Guidelines for P2P Transactions

⚠️ CRITICAL: ZeroFee.gg is an OPEN P2P MARKETPLACE. We do NOT handle payments, provide refunds, act as escrow, or guarantee transactions. ALL deals are at your own risk. You deal directly with sellers. Protect yourself.

1. Understanding the Risk

When buying on ZeroFee.gg, you must understand:

  • You deal directly with the seller - no middleman
  • ZeroFee.gg never touches, holds, or processes your payment
  • We cannot recover money if a seller scams you
  • We cannot force a seller to deliver
  • We cannot provide refunds or compensation
  • We do not verify seller identities or item authenticity

Your safety is YOUR responsibility. Follow these guidelines to minimize risk.

Platform Safety Systems — How We Help Stop Fraud

ZeroFee.gg is an open P2P marketplace — we never hold your payment. Even so, we run active safety layers to warn buyers early, surface risky sellers, and help stop repeat fraud before money leaves your account.

Live Chat Risk Warnings

While you message a seller, our systems analyze the conversation and show real-time alerts at the top of chat when something looks risky.

  • Warnings if the seller has multiple pending reports from other buyers
  • Alerts when messages use common off-platform payment scam phrases
  • Notices for low trust scores, flagged accounts, or weak review history
  • Extra caution prompts on high-risk chats before you pay
  • All negotiation stays on-platform so logs can be reviewed if you report

Report & Evidence System

One-click reporting from chat, listings, or profiles — with optional compressed screenshot evidence for moderators.

  • Report types: scam, fake listing, harassment, payment issue, prohibited items, and more
  • Attach up to 3 screenshots per report (auto-compressed to save storage and limit abuse)
  • Rate limits prevent report spam (5 reports per hour per account)
  • Reports must be tied to a real chat, listing, or order — random reports are blocked
  • Pending reports do not lower seller trust; only admin-confirmed reports count
  • Admins can Dismiss false reports so the seller score is restored
  • Accounts with repeated dismissed reports may lose the ability to file new ones
  • Priority queue for moderators; urgent fraud can also be emailed to support@zerofee.gg
  • Reported accounts may be suspended or permanently banned after review
  • Reported sellers receive a security notice — reporter identity is never revealed

Order Tracking & Dispute Signals

Structured order steps inside chat so both sides see payment and delivery progress.

  • Order status updates posted in chat (e.g. Payment Sent, Delivered, Disputed)
  • Buyers can mark an order as Disputed; sellers are notified immediately
  • Prior disputed or cancelled orders with the same user raise risk warnings in chat
  • Order history supports evidence if you contact your payment provider

Trust Signals & Moderation

Reputation data and automated checks help you decide before paying.

  • Seller ratings, reviews, sales count, response time, and badges (Verified, Trusted, Premium)
  • Automated message moderation scoring on platform chat
  • Seller trust scores reflect confirmed reports and disputes — not unverified claims
  • Listings and accounts can be removed for policy violations
  • Built-in Help Assistant answers safety questions instantly from our knowledge base

Anti-Abuse & Platform Limits

Rate limits and monitoring reduce spam, flooding, and coordinated attacks.

  • API and action rate limits (messages, reports, listings, uploads)
  • Evidence uploads capped in size and count per report
  • Accounts with excessive false reporting may be flagged
  • Chat logs preserved for moderation and lawful requests

Important — What Safety Tools Do NOT Do

  • We do not process, hold, or refund P2P payments
  • Warnings do not automatically block a seller or cancel a trade
  • We do not verify every item or identity before listing
  • No safety feature replaces PayPal G&S, card chargebacks, or your own due diligence

These tools reduce risk; they do not guarantee a safe trade, recover funds, or replace your own judgment. Always verify sellers and use payment methods with buyer protection.

2. Before You Buy - Verify the Seller

✅ Check Seller Reputation

  • • Review seller rating and total reviews
  • • Read recent buyer reviews carefully
  • • Check how long the seller has been on the platform
  • • Look at total sales volume
  • • Check if seller has Trusted, Rep Pass, or Premium badges

✅ Inspect the Listing

  • • Read the full description carefully
  • • Check all provided images/screenshots
  • • Verify what is included vs. what is not
  • • Check delivery method and timeframe
  • • Look for warranty or refund terms from seller

✅ Ask Questions

  • • Use platform chat to message the seller
  • • Ask for additional screenshots or proof
  • • Clarify delivery process step-by-step
  • • Ask about after-sale support
  • • Keep all communication ON the platform (for evidence)

3. Payment Safety - Understand the Risks

✅ Recommended Payment Methods (with buyer protection):

These methods offer dispute resolution and chargeback options if the seller fails to deliver.

  • PayPal Goods & Services: Buyer protection and dispute resolution available
  • Credit Cards: Chargeback protection through your bank
  • Third-Party Escrow Services: Use for high-value transactions

⚠️ High-Risk Payment Methods (Little/No Buyer Protection):

Sellers choose their own accepted payment methods. ZeroFee.gg does NOT process, restrict, or interfere with any payment method. The following methods offer minimal buyer protection if the seller does not deliver. Use at your own risk.

  • Cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, etc.): Irreversible, no buyer recourse
  • Wire Transfers: Immediate, cannot be reversed
  • Gift Cards: Untraceable, no protection
  • Cash App / Venmo (without buyer protection): Designed for friends/family, not commercial transactions
  • PayPal Friends & Family: No buyer protection for commercial purchases

💡 ZeroFee.gg does NOT restrict payment methods. Sellers choose what they accept. We strongly recommend using methods with buyer protection, but the choice is between you and the seller.

4. Red Flags - AVOID These Sellers

  • 🚩 Pressure you to pay quickly ("limited time", "someone else is buying")
  • 🚩 Insist on payment outside the platform or via unsafe methods
  • 🚩 Refuse to communicate through platform chat
  • 🚩 Have multiple negative reviews or scam reports
  • 🚩 Offer prices significantly below market value (too good to be true)
  • 🚩 New account with no sales history selling high-value items
  • 🚩 Ask for your personal information (passwords, ID, etc.)
  • 🚩 Provide vague or incomplete item descriptions
  • 🚩 Refuse to provide screenshots or proof of ownership
  • 🚩 Use stolen or stock images instead of actual screenshots

5. What We Can Do (Limited)

Our safety systems work before and after a bad trade: chat warnings try to stop you paying a risky seller; reports and moderation act after a problem. If you report a fraudulent seller, we will:

  • Review the report, attached screenshots, and on-platform chat history
  • Show risk alerts to other buyers chatting with the same seller when appropriate
  • Suspend or permanently ban the seller's account
  • Remove fraudulent listings
  • Share information with law enforcement if required

What we CANNOT do:

  • Recover your money or provide refunds
  • Reverse transactions or chargebacks
  • Force a seller to deliver items
  • Compensate you for any losses
  • Verify item authenticity or ownership
